
About Dr. Schneider

Robert E. Schneider, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist licensed to practice in California and Washington State with over 35 years of training and experience in assessment and treatment of a wide range of psychological problems. As a U.S. Army psychologist for ten years, he was director of psychology and a faculty member in the psychiatry residency program at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco.
He has been the director of two Bay Area chronic pain clinics and VP for Development of the Bay Area Head Injury Recovery Centers with HQ in Berkeley. He has done “return to work” evaluations for the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation in Washington State for 25 years and comprehensive disability evaluations for 12 years. He has been a Workers Compensation Qualified Medical Evaluator for over 20 years. He performs a wide range of evaluations for psychological and emotional problems, neuropsychological injury, return to work issues, learning disabilities, attention deficit/hyperactivity, long-term disability and competency.
He has acted as an expert witness in cases involving head injury, emotional injury, and fitness for duty. As a former business owner he has firsthand knowledge of work conditions including labor, production and management. He brings a broad base of knowledge and experience to each evaluation, addressing the concerns of the patient as well as interested parties. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the National Academy of Neuropsychology.
